5 Melodies - S. Prokofiev (alto flute, piano)

£15.00

The Five Melodies, op. 35, were originally composed in 1920 for voice and piano as vocalises—wordless melodies. Prokofiev later arranged them for violin and piano in 1925 (op. 35b), enriching the solo line with more idiomatic violin writing and adjusting the piano part where necessary.

This new arrangement for alto flute and piano combines elements of both versions, capitalizing on the instrument’s lyrical, voice-like qualities while occasionally incorporating more virtuosic passages.
