Quintet - P. Reade (saxophone and wind)

Scored for the distinctive and colourful quintet of flute/piccolo, oboe, alto saxophone, horn, and bassoon, this single-movement work is defined by the interplay of two vividly contrasting characters. The first is brooding and melancholic, punctuated by capricious, quasi-recitativo interruptions. In stark relief, the second character bursts forth with rhythmic drive and vibrant excitement.

The publication provides individual parts for the performers as well as a full score in concert pitch.
